Do you ever feel like you’re running upside down through a tornado, waving at a flying cow, and are in a downward spiral? And right before your face bashes the earth, the winds pull you up and now you’re riding a bull backward like a rodeo clown?
Okay, the way I just phrased that, the tornado drill actually sounds fun, right? But that’s not where I’m going with this one. We’re not paying for sky diving lessons here.
I’m talking about how we feel like we’re in a constant state of transition—and it sucks—because it’s true. This is the way of things.
The physiological science gurus says that our bodies’ cells change or renew themselves every seven-ish years. This got me thinking because the metaphysical gurus say we transform our awareness about every seven years as well.
Hmmm. It’s almost like everything is always changing. Weird.
The seasons change. We change our underwear every few days, or so. We change our minds. The kids grow up. The dogs get old. We want to change careers because the boss is a jerk and always gives Betty promotions.
The point I’m making here is we are constantly evolving. And the tornadoes we experience are nothing more than the Universe throwing out opportunities for us to focus and get settled in for the long haul of our lives’ ebbs and flows.
The chaos of the storm doesn’t have to jostle us around every moment of our lives. When things are going a little too topsy-turvy and we’re desperate to stop the stomach from twisting on this roller coaster we ride daily, all we have to do is find the eye of the storm.
That’s where the chaos calms. That’s where we can meet up with friends and have a cocktail. It’s a place where we know we can enjoy those short, peaceful moments because as soon as we step out of our comfortable space, the winds pick up and the hail starts. But that’s okay. We’re used to the upheaval. We know it’s coming and frankly, there’s nothing we can do but enjoy the ride.
I have gone to seminars/immersions where speakers have spoken about seasons. Seasons in a persons life, and seasons of society.
SPRING – Creation of something new/Exciting/ High Growth
SUMMER – Feel the heat/Coming of Age/Tested
FALL – Reaping/Unwinding/Preparing
WINTER – Slow Down/Regeneration/Together to survive Death/Creation of a new Beginning.
For People:
The first 24 years are the Spring
The next 24 are the Summer
The next 24 are the Fall
The next 24 are the Winter
For Societies, we seem to change seasons approximately every 7-10 years. (Final 1/3rd of Winter right now.)
In Winter times are hard. Some don’t make it. But those that do create the most in Spring.
Those that create the most in Spring. Reap the most in the Fall.
Your post made me think…..
If person progresses season every 20-24 years….. And if people are renewed every 7-10 years……
Could we be seasoning ourselves within the seasons? %)
First 7 reading the season
Next 7 adapt and adjust
Next 7 Progressing
And finally Review/Assess & Preparing for the next season.
Thank You for Food for thought. 🙂
Wow. This is such great insight and the best part is, no one knows how it all ends. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, friend.
